I've been feeling somewhat under the weather the last week, just suffering from sniffles, a stiff and painful neck and shoulder on my left side, and some sinus blockage or whatever it is that makes you feel stuffy. It's not been hampering everything I have to do and need to do, but it has made things inconvenient at times. Of more concern to me has been my back, the lower back and bulging disc specifically, that has been much worse since I tweaked the lower back problem back in October or November (I forget which). The pain has been hindering my movements quite a bit, and lifting things has been completely out of the question given that the pain also extends into my legs and has also made driving the car exquisitely painful.
In other news, I'm looking forward to the arrival of my new television set on Friday, and gaming for the month is pretty much set with running the Primeval RPG and working on stuff for the All For One: Régime Diabolique rpg (and doing a bit of prep for the CanGames, 2012 games I plan to run there. Add to that the two Play By e-Mails (PBeMs) that I'm running, Airship Pirates: Tales of the Airship Pirates PBeM and Primeval: Tales of the Anomalies PBeM (both of which are looking for a few new players), and I'm pretty busy doing the stuff I want to do and love in this regard.
The Christmas and Hanukkah shopping that I needed to do is done, and all the gifts and the like I needed to buy have been bought. I'll be spending part of Christmas Day with Kathy and my goddaughter, so am looking forward to that, but I've been seriously considering just spending New Year's Eve on my own and relaxing and watching a few DVDs on New Year's Day. Those plans may change, so one never knows, but I'm really in need of some down time at the moment.
Book-wise, I'm reading Chindi by Jack McDevitt (yes, I know, I'm behind on reading his stuff!) and it's been a good read so far. He's by far one of my favourite hard sf and xenoarchaeology writers, and I savour every book of his when I read it. I'm also re-reading the All For One: Régime Diabolique RPG at the moment, and have to say that I'm really enjoying that, too. Don't know what's next on the reading list, but there's plenty of books to go around in the queue! :)
Anyway, time to get ready for school and class tonight.
