My week can be summed up pretty succinctly. Went to work; went to Geology course classes; car is buried under snow and some ice that I cannot cut through due to back pain and other problems; watched a few movies; watched a bit of tv; watched some Primeval episodes; caught a bug that has me feeling under the weather.
The good bits this week have been the Geology class and the movies and tv stuff. The Geology class is still fascinating me and keeping me interested, and I'm very glad that I've taken them. Getting to and fro from the classes this week was...an effort, but I managed to do so. Movie-wise, I watched some good Three Musketeers-related films, and had a good time with them. I was taken by surprise by two of these films. The first, The Man in the Iron Mask (1998), with Leonardo DiCaprio and a stellar cast took me by surprise as DiCaprio was much better in it than I expected him to be, and the film was really good. The second film, La Fille de d'Artagnan (1994); sold in English speaking countries as Revenge of the Musketeers), was absolutely superb, with Sophie Marceau and Philippe Noiret in the lead roles, and had a terrific story, excellent acting, and easy-to-deal-with subtitles for those who require them. Lovely stuff. I also caught up with some more of the Primeval tv series, specifically Series One and Two, watching them through on DVD on the 46-inch television. Great viewing, and good stuff.
As for New Year's Eve, I don't have any plans other than to spend a relatively quiet evening just relaxing and taking it easy this year. Part of this now stems from the fact that I'm feeling somewhat sick, but also from the fact that I just feel...burned out on life at the moment. If I have my way, I might just try and sleep right through the whole midnight thing this time around.
In the meantime, I would like to wish all my friends a very safe, healthy, and Happy New Year. Be good to yourselves, be good to each other, and I'll catch you here again in 2012. :)
