A Permian Forest

Been surfing the web, and have seen a few interesting things this morning that I've been catching up on. From the science point of view of things, one of the more interesting ones is this one from February 20th, in which I learned that scientists have reconstructed an ancient ecosystem from plants preserved in a volcanic eruption:

Fascinating stuff, that provides some interesting insight into Permian forests and palaeobotany.
