Bled and Fed

Just got into work after having gone for my three-month set of bloodwork and urinary sample tests. Diabetes waits and slows down for no one, and so the tests are every three-months, like clockwork, almost. I got to the lab at 7:20 am this morning, thinking the lab would open the day after the Labour Day weekend at around 8:00 am or so, and found there were four people in line, and that the lab was opening at the regular time of 7:30. With a "Hello, John, how are you today", Mary (one of my favourite technicians) gave me the specimen jar, and then it was off to the (test) races. I was in and out of there after the tests in like 15 minutes.

Since spross couldn't go for breakfast with me as we had planned, I went over to the nearest local Denny's restaurant, and had a lovely Grand Slam breakfast. (The day of my blood tests, where I have to fast for about 9-12 hours before the tests, I treat myself to this breakfast.)

It's a beautiful day today, so I'm rather sorry that I came to work right after the wonderful breakfast at Denny's. I got in here about twenty minutes ago, and am having a cup of herbal tea, while getting ready to put some work in today. My arm is a bit sore from the needle used to take the blood, but I don't appear to be bruising at all, which is good.

Talk to folks later. :)
