I went to bed relatively early last night, around 10:15 pm, and lay back and read the current read I'm trying to finish before the end of the month, Terry Pratchett's Nation, and turned off the lights around 11:10 pm. I dozed off, but was woken up around 1:15 am by acid reflux in my throat. This is the first time I've had this problem since I had the endoscopy and started taking the Tecta for it. (For those who don't know, I have a serious case of GERD.)
So I went upstairs, and quaffed a small glass of coca cola. Always seems to do the trick for me. Not last night. I woke up again around 3:25 am with the acid reflux in my throat, and caved in and finally took three Gaviscon tablets. An hour later, around 4:15 am, I woke up again needing to run to the bathroom with a bad case of diarrhea. Needless to say, I was still awake when the alarm went off for work around 5:25 am.
So here I am, sitting at my desk at work, wondering how I'm going to get through the day as I feel more tired than I did when I went to bed, and have a screaming headache as well that will not go away even with the two pills I took for such things. Heck, I'm not even sure my stomach and throat feel all that much better either.
Good thing I've got a family doctor appointment today, huh? Need to leave work early to go and see him, and then have to decide on whether to go back to work or go home and try and get a bit more sleep.
Oh, and I'm starting to stress out once more about the second endoscopy that I need to have next week. It's just a follow-up to make sure things are all right down there, but after last night's experience... Oh joy, oh bliss.
