As I had mentioned in the earlier post above, the Friday nighters are just getting back into The Dying Earth RPG, published by Pelgrane Press and based on the works of Jack Vance, so I felt things were going to be pretty simple to run. I was prepared with some tylenol, and had some throat lozenges handy, and could always make something hot to drink...
Anyway, the game went exceedingly well, given the circumstances of illness and all within the Friday night gaming group. The player characters were invited to the manse of one Divick the Bibulous for a night's entertainment and all, but seeing as this *is* the Dying Earth, things were not as they seem. After engaging in too many libations, the players made disparaging comments about their host and his manse, and now find themselves in a dark, dense forest (possibly the Great Da, but that would be telling!
I survived the gaming experience pretty intact, and imbibed a few cups of hot herbal tea, and didn't really have any coughing fits that were too severe. The gaming group had a good time as well, although we broke up for the night about an hour earlier than we normally do.
And I don't feel all that bad this morning. so things are good. Time for another cup of herbal tea.
