Doctor Called

Well, that doesn't necessarily augur well.

The doctor's office just called to tell me that the results of the ultrasound that I had done (see this post for more) are back. While I have an appointment scheduled for next Monday, he wants to see me tomorrow.

I've got an appointment for 1:00 pm tomorrow. Should I be worried?

*Should* you worry? No. It might just be Dr. Quack trying to make up for having punted the rush order, last week (or was that the week before?)

*Will* you worry? I'm guessing that's inevitable!

Fingers crossed for non-bad news!

Yeah, I'm going to worry, 'cause that's just the way I am. Unfortunately. In my experience, doctors don't call you in to the office in advance of an already booked appointment for test results unless there's something up, but with Dr. Quack, who knows?

My fingers are crossed, too! :)

Worrying does no good. If the news is good, worrying is wasted effort. If the news is bad, worrying won't change it.

Now living that advice isn't easy. Knowing you, you'll worry. Hang in there...

ETA I'll try to remember to call you and find out what happened.

I know it's probably going to be impossible, but try not to worry until you know what he has to say.

It's not uncommon for doctors to want to discuss results in person.

Yeah, but he's called me in almost a week early to discuss the results. That's what I'm worrying about. *sigh*

Come on, this is Dr. Quack we're talking about. He's probably calling you in due to something or another stupid. Don't let Dr. Quack rule the world.

But, as you are bound to be worrying... The wait isn't that long. Treat yourself to something you usually don't.

That was a good idea, Gloria. I treated myself yesterday evening, when the darkness and the night just had me worrying more, to a bit of chocolate peppermint ice cream.

Didn't stop the worrying for long, but did make me feel a bit better! :)
