The Sunday gaming group was out in full (full being 3 folks - still want to find another one or two gamers for the Sunday group if possible), and had an enjoyable first session of the Broken Rooms roleplaying game. Yes, I'll be blogging about this sooner rather than later. :)
As mentioned yesterday, I planned to go out to supper after gaming, and that's what I did.
I was able to finagle spross (not that I have to finagle SteveR all that hard!) and Doug into going out to eat Chinese food with me. We decided to go over to one of my favourite Chinese restaurants, Brother Wu, over on St. Laurent. We started off with a bowl each of Mustard Greens with Pork soup, which was quite lovely and savoury, and had just the right amount of heat and warmth to it. This was followed by an order of Hunan dumplings in a chili sauce. We ordered it somewhat mild, and while it had a bit of bite, I could have actually eaten it a bit spicier. The main dishes for the evening were the General T'sao's Chicken (very nice and tasty, with a good bite and heat to the dish), Cantonese Chow Mein with Chicken and Vegetables (nice, light dish, with a hint of sweetness), Buddha's Delight (a marvellous vegetable dish that has a delicious taste to it, with plenty of mushrooms...Yummy!), and Sauteed Beef on Sizzling Platter (a very nice dish with a modicum of heat to it that tasted delicious), and a small bowl of rice.
Overall, it was a very nice meal, reasonably priced, with generous portions. The three of us did justice to the food, though I actually didn't fill up too badly, and we had good conversation and chatter over the meal. When I got home, after spross dropped me off at the house, I had a half an apple for dessert. Pretty satisfying evening.
Today is the start of another week at work of course, but this afternoon I have a doctor's appointment to go over the x-ray results and blood tests that were done last week. (If the results are back in.) We'll see how that goes. In the meantime, work awaits...
