I came in to work to find that there was a pile of work on my desk waiting for my attention, but there was also a message in among the memos and the like asking me to call the hospital and a specific number. It was the number for the Ultrasound Booking Office for all of Ottawa's hospitals and medical clinics.
To make a long story short, the nice lady that I spoke to, Jessica, told me that they had received Dr. Quack's request for the neck and throat biopsies, but before I can have those done, they need to do a specific set of ultrasounds to localise some of the lymph nodes, and a series of blood tests to check some "factors" that need to be examined before they can do the biopsies. I've got an appointment for 2:30 pm on Monday (have to be there ten minutes earlier) to have both the ultrasounds and the blood tests done at the Riverside.
Oh, joy. Oh, bliss.
In the meantime, time to drown my sorrows in a cup of peppermint tea, and get back to this pile of paperwork on my office desk.
