Twisted or Sprained Ankle

Earlier this morning in another blog entry, I mentioned that I have sprained my ankle. Forgot to talk about that and the context. So without further ado...

Yesterday, spross and I went out grocery shopping in the middle and late afternoon. I decided to clean off the car before we left, as it was covered in snow and I didn't want to have to deal with 15 cms. of the white stuff again (as it was still supposed to snow some more the rest of the day and into today, Sunday). The sides of the parking space were completely icy because of the rain and warm temperatures that we had during the week, and while I was cleaning off the light snow, I slipped on the ice. I managed to prevent myself from seriously falling, but I twisted or sprained my ankle. I didn't think it was too bad at the time, and was able to walk and spross and I went out and did the grocery shopping.

After I got back to the house around 5:00 pm or so, the ankle was throbbing pretty badly and looked a bit swollen, so I put some ice on the ankle on and off for most of Saturday evening, and then taped it up for a while before I went to bed.

This morning, I woke up and felt the ankle was pretty swollen again. So after I had breakfast (putting some ice on the ankle while I ate) and then showered, I have taped it up again, and while sitting here on the computer have iced the ankle again. Still pretty sore, and somewhat swollen, but the plan for the rest of the day is to stay off the ankle if I can, and keep icing it down.

We'll see what happens tomorrow.
