For at least fifteen years now, I've been hoping, begging, praying that the China Beach (or the IMDb listing) tv series would finally come to DVD. It's obviously a blue moon, because Time Life put up for pre-order two gargantuan boxed sets of the series for order effective today!
For those who don't know, China Beach is an American drama television series set at an evacuation hospital during the Vietnam War. The title refers to My Khe beach in the city of Đà Nẵng, Vietnam, which was nicknamed "China Beach" in English by American and Australian soldiers during the Vietnam War. The ABC TV drama aired for four seasons, from 1988 to 1991. The series launched the careers of so many terrific actors and actresses that it's impossible to name them all, but take a look at this cast photo.

It's about time China Beach came out on DVD, and I for one have already ordered my $199 boxed set that's due to come out in April. My birthday and Christmas present to myself all rolled into one! Yay!!!
