This past couple of days, I have managed to watch three hours of I, Claudius episodes, read Richard Matheson's I Am Legend, do some writing of Desolation game materials, and do some much needed housework and sorting out of books and the like. I have even managed to get some decent sleep in, too. :)
That said, I did spend Christmas Eve with my mother, and we had a good meal together consisting of Jewish penicillin (i.e., chicken soup), roast beef, mashed potatoes, and a spinach and mushroom dish. Had an apple for dessert, and even had chestnuts, which I had picked up just for the occasion. She's still in pain with the leg wound, but it is starting to heal although the doctor told her that it will take a while for her to recover.
In addition, I spent part of Christmas Day at SteveB and Kathy's place, and got thanked in only the way that a ten-and-a-half year old girl, my goddaughter Ellie, can thank you for her Christmas present - two 5-foot long dinosaurs, a T-Rex and a Stegosaurus (complete with spiky ball tail thing). Her parents, on the other hand, were not as pleased per sé even though they asked me to see if I could find them for her, since that was what she wanted for Christmas! I can't win, can I? So go figure...
Other than that, it's been a good relaxing few days. Kind of grateful for them, as I needed to recharge my energy. Going to spend the rest of today listening to a bit of music, and working on some gaming stuff...and I should really do a bit of laundry, methinks.
After all, it may be the holidays, but life goes on. :)
