At the Movies...

Just came back about 40 minutes or so ago from the theater. Went and caught the early evening show of The Golden Compass, based on the Philip Pullman book of the same name, with spross.

I am not going to spoil this movie for anyone, but I will say this: *Go and see this movie! You won't regret it!*.

Now that that's out of the way, I will just say that the movie is brilliant, and relatively faithful to the book on which it is based, although the entire religion element was downplayed completely. The movie cinematography is just superb, the music throughout is wonderful, and Nicole Kidman is just *vicious* as Mrs. Coulter. Dakota Blue Richards was excellent as Lyra Belacqua, catching the feel of the character just right. Great to see Derek Jacobi again, even if he is playing the evil guy at the Magesterium.

Oh, and I'm in love with Eva Green as Serafina.

Can't wait to see what the second book, The Subtle Knife, looks like. :)

'Nuff said.
