While browsing the internet this morning, just saw the news about Doctor Who. Matt Smith is leaving the role of the Doctor after playing him for four years.
This, after Matt stated only a week or so ago that he would be back for Series 8 of New Who. So, wonder what really happened there and where this came from. A recent decision, or whether it's been in the works for a bit?
In the meantime, of course, that means that the speculation will begin on who will take over the role of the Doctor in the series... Oy vey! :)
Personally, I would love to see the role go to an older person, perhaps a fellow in their 40s or 50s. I've got a couple of potential nominees for the role, but I think I'd really like to see Douglas Henshall (he of Primeval fame) play the Doctor, not that he'd ever do it.
