The ductless air conditioning system is properly installed and is now fully functioning. It took the two fellows about an hour and a bit to install the new compressor, test both the compressor and the indoor unit, and then I got a quick tutorial on how the ductless a/c works in the house (though I'll have to read the booklet on the device to get the proper hang of things).
You've already seen the before and after pictures of the indoor unit for the ductless system here and here, so I offer up the picture of the outdoor compressor (the faulty unit that had to be replaced with a new one.
What surprises me is how quiet the two units are. Both the indoor and outdoor units are quiet as a pair of mice (and if you don't believe me, folks, you can ask spross after I see him tomorrow). It's running perfectly right now, even as we speak, but I'll have to get the hang of how to direct the air in the house once the weather gets a bit hotter (it's only 24oC outside right now, and there's a bit of a breeze as well).
